I am enjoying "House of Sand and Fog", thus far. It is a book with complicated characters, so it is hard to root for any particular person as they are all insufferable. The story line is keeping me interested, though. I am curious to see how the situation works itself out.

I had such high expectations for this book. I have heard nothing, but great things and, unfortunately, it hasn't "wow'd" me, yet. The premise is everything I love in books- backwoods, poor, a psychotic family. I am not sure whether I need to start lowering my expectations, or if, maybe, it just isn't my cup of tea. I was expecting... more..

However, I have around one-hundred pages left so it still has potential.

So far, this reminds me of "Woom". As a Woman, I just canNOT imagine what made him think that his solution would work- I guess grief? I still need to finish reading to see what the conclusion is.

A, very, weird, but, in a sick way, good book by Matt Shaw- BUT aren't they all?
