Whew. I am struggling.

Katabasis is my first fantasy from her and… it’s not serving.

Yes, she’s brilliant. Yes, the research and references are impressive. But honestly? This book feels like homework. It’s monotonous, and I’m bored. I don’t care about the characters. And Alice? One of the most unlikeable mains I’ve read in a while.

I’ll finish it (because I’m stubborn), still hoping the second half turns it around
