WW2 starts for America when the Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor. Malcom seems interested in joining up but Shorty insists that if their numbers are called for the draft they will get out of it.

Ella finds out about Sophia. Malcom reaches his breaking point after fighting with Ella and decides to move out. He moves in with Shorty and promises to cover half the rent.

Malcom breaks up with Laura because she wanted a serious relationship and he just wanted to have fun. He leaves her for a white girl he met at the club who he thought liked him but really she replaced him with a different guy as soon as he left.

Malcom meets Laura and takes her to dance at the Roseland. They seem to be hitting it off.

Ella made Malcom quit his job at the dance hall and move to the Townsend Drugstore on the hill after she finds him with drugs.

Malcom has three more first- his first drink, his first dance with a girl, and he is about have his hair straightened for the first time.

Red bought a new suit on credit and Ella disapproves. He points out the differences between him and his half sister. She is a "Hill" person and he is a "Street" person.

Malcom got a new shoe shine job and the dance hall and Shorty just gave him his new nickname, Red.

Malcom meets Shorty and Fat Frankie over gambling.

I did not plan to continue this book but I forgot my copy of The Picture of Dorian Grey so, here we are. Malcom has found a neighborhood just outside were Ella lives called Roxbury. Malcom feels at home there even though Ella tells him to steer clear of the place.

Malcom finally made it to Boston.

Malcom and the miner see a lynched man hanging from a tree outside the window of the bus.

Malcom has a flashback to when his teacher, who he thought of as sort of a replacement father figure, really just saw him as his skin color and nothing else.

Malcom meets an old miner who has the same name as his dead dad. Earl, the miner, pretends to be his uncle so they can stay on the bus.

Malcom is reflecting on his childhood and how he was the first child to be taken away from his mother. Malcom blames (or at least blamed) himself for the hardship his family had and thought if he left his family would get better. We know now that he was incorrect.

Malcom finds out that the only way his mom kept a job is by convincing people she was white. Once they figured out that she was black just like her kids, she got fired. I predict she isn't going to be able to get a job in their town now.

We are currently in a flashback to Malcom's childhood growing up in an overcrowded Great Depression household.

I am enjoying this book so far. I randomly picked it up but I don't regret it. I know very little about Malcom X so hopefully this will give me more context and insight into his life.

We just found out who the bad guys are and why they want to possess Tam with the horse demon.

I feel like this story is really bare bones, like I feel like Im missing a ,to of plot. Maybe that is because its an advanced readers copy or maybe Im just not used to reading comic books, I dont' know.

I like this book. so far. It's nice to read a book that is so obviously queer without characters sexuality and gender completely absorbing the plot. It's not a "coming out" book like most lgbtq+ stories, it's just a story about people who happen to be queer which is so much more enjoyable for me.

I am very tired today and trying to read did not help me wake up. All Bernstein really did was define different terms like telepathy and Esp. He also contrasted telepathy and clairvoyance.

Mr. Bernstein has begun having dreams predicting events that have not happened yet. His mother in law also claims to have seen a vision of her dead father telling her where to find the body of her missing calf. Before this Bernstein had no faith in telepathy or predicting the future.

I did not get very far today but Bernstein has completed narcosynthesis treatment with no change. In his next attempt at self hypnosis, Morey and his wife Hazel are about to enter a pressure chamber that makes it possible to remain completely still without breathing. this chamber pumps oxygen into your lungs and removes carbon dioxide without you having to take a single breath. This too fails.

Bernstein has tried and failed carbon dioxide treatment. He is getting a psychoanalysis and he will soon try narcosynthesis. Basically, he will be given narcotics until he enters a come like state and then hopefully, be hypnotized.

I'm defiantly going to have to look this up myself sometime. I don't believe in hypnotism but hey- it is interesting.

I have no idea why picked this book but I'm reading it now so.... alright. I'm pretty sure everything in this book is bull but it is interesting.

I did not get very far today because I was later to class. Not much happened, Victor is still talking about the stranger.
