My own research on just the Greek stuff and its parallels informs a pretty different stance for a lot of his arguments so far, so I'm a little wary of reading the rest on more modern stuff without that background research but for curiosity's sake I want to see what he has to say (tabbing the page num with this note as a reminder for future me). Just found out the other day Anne Carson used to teach at McGill... oh to be able to talk to Anne Carson in the Classics department. No wonder the library had all her essays.

One day in the far future I will actually finish this book and have done all the problems and ascend beyond my own humanity

If I have to read (and memorize) this cursed book cover to cover by god am I going to make it at least count here.
