I chose the character Marlee. A character trait I would describe her as shy. I would say she is shy because on the outside she shows no emotion and does not talk very often. In the inside it may be different by her thinking about her family, her going to her first day of school. An example of her being shy is when she was on the diving board. She stepped up and stood there for a period of time but did not jump off.

One important part of the book was when one of the main characters Katelyn, found an old book in her moms closet. It was a rare book supposing to hold special spells and secrets that no one is supposed to have. ¨Until one day I found the old book in Mums closet. It was hidden for a reason, but I was always the curious one.¨ (40) This secretive book found hidden proves that it may be important to the book.

One conflict in the book was when his best friend, Rowley kept ditching him for his new found girlfriend. Whenever Greg tried to fit in with the two, Rowleys girlfriend kept judging him and Rowley always took his girlfriends side no matter what. That led Greg to try and find new friends in middle school. It did not help either when his mean older brother, annoying little brother, and nuisances of parents to deal with

One characteristic I would describe Greg is unlucky. I would say he is unlucky because of all of the events that happen to him. He has school problems like an incident in the cafeteria, home problems like his mean brother Rodrick or problems in general. For example, ¨I fished the phone out of the toilet and did everything I could to get it to turn on, but it was no use¨ This example proves that Greg is unlucky.

Jeff was annoyed. He was annoyed because he had his bed taken away from him for two nights and had to sleep in his brother´s room. He slept on a leaky air mattress. He was on the mattress on his brother´s smelly floor. ¨I was glad they left, because when they did, I got my bed back. For two nights I had to sleep in Rodrick room on a leaky air mattress.¨
This proves that Jeff was annoyed because he did not have a bed.

One part I thought was funny was when Greg was sitting outside trying to find Fregley, the kid who did not fit in. He was sitting near the boys bathroom because he couldn´t get a seat in the cafeteria.´Today at lunch I went to find Fregley and invite him to our table. He was so far back in the line to get a seat that he was out in the hallway near the boys bathroom´. This example shows humor and funniness.
