One character trait to describe Marlee is introverted because she gets really nervous in public places and in social situations. In the story she has trouble talking to people. Her family tries to encourage her to be more talkative. "It took me a second to realize I had spoken. To a stranger. Mother would be thrilled." (15). This shows that she has trouble with socializing and is a very shy person.

One conflict was when Freddie was struggling in school. He was doing poorly in English and Spanish class, and his mom was suspicious of why. "'My mom better not see you,' Freddie said cautiously." "'She thinks you're the reason I got a D in English and Spanish.'" This would be a problem because Freddie would not be able to hang around Ryan as much. Freddie's mom is not happy about Ryan's influence on Freddie.

One part that was very sad is that Rebecca has family issues and money problems. I can tell that she feels very hopeless and upset about her life situation. ¨He demanded the cookie in her hand,¨ ¨´You got ugly cookies.´¨ ¨Rebecca´s heart sank.¨ ¨´They´re not ugly´ she muttered.¨ (137) This shows that since she has a tough life at home, other things get to her easily.

One important part is when Letty thinks that Miguel is using her for money. She thinks that because Miguel is always hinting that he needs money. On page 128 it says ¨He´s trying to use you and then drop you. She had left him that afternoon promising to think about the loan.¨ This shows that Letty knew that Miguel was using her because whenever Miguel would ask for something she would assume that its money.

One trait to describe Rachael is responsible. She is responsible because she is only ten years old and is already being the bigger person. On page 81 it says "She cleaned up the gooey mess, washed the grease-spotted floor, did a few dishes in the sink, and went to brush her teeth. This proves that she was responsible by cleaning the mess that was made instead of just leaving it like many other ten year old kids.

One conflict was when the new girl, Ana, that happened to have the same name as her became more well known than her. That made her jealous. In this story everyone started to pay more attention to the new Ana than her. On page 44 it says "'I'll take Ana Hernandez.' 'Not you-the other Ana. The new girl!'" This shows that the new Ana "stole her identity" and made the original Ana jealous.
