I love Eilonwy and all, but...am I alone in shipping Taran and Elldyr???

The book open's pretty strong, thrusting our characters into a plot that seems worthy of the series, but, it still lacks the energy I am accustomed to in the TV series. It seems to be moving too slow and the writing approach is more clinical than I would like. I want more description of interior monologue and individuality amongst the characters.

Alright, first story down. I really liked the details that were added, having seen the actual episode that the text is based on. We get some welcome insights, and I really like the sensibilities and pacing of the author.

Definitely expects you to be familiar with the show and the events of Planet of the Apes, but I do enjoy the author, so far.

There are some pretty cool insights on movies I am familiar with, and he's turning me on to plenty of other movies and filmmakers that I am excited to check out, but there are more than a few occasions that the voice of the book takes on a pretty snobbish tone, and I can't help but wonder what a film criticism and analysis book would have looked like if penned by a younger, enthusiastic Tarantino...

Okay, Quentin, we get it, you hate The Beatles...

Getting tougher and tougher to put it down. Great character-driven plot.
