You can’t convince me that the MC (or
Dazai given that this is semi autobiographical) isn’t autistic. This is such a relatable account of the autistic mask, discomfort and cluelessness with affective empathy, loneliness, substance abuse issues, and life long fight for authenticity. I found words for feelings I have never been able to define in my own life in this book.
