Has anyone noticed something odd about the Reading Challenge? I keep getting what I call 'ghost books' added to my read list. I have to continually clean it out otherwise, I would have very nearly reached my Challenge limit already!!!

Could someone please tell me why I am doing this to myself? I'm sure this ends up being a wonderful, insightful book...but I don't think I can do this.

Could not finish this book. You need to read the first book to understand this one, and I just don't have the time or the wish to do so. This book would be better thought of as a YA IMO.

I'm halfway through and this is one of the most boring books I have read lately. I get that this is supposed to be like Upstairs-Downstairs, but geez, they really smack you in the face with that point.

I could not finish this - this is a pair of Ms. Harris's early works and it shows. Painful to slog through.

Wow, are we sure that this isn't a YA book? The characters and especially Cat, feel so teenager-y to me. If they don't start talking and acting like adults instead of lovesick teens, I'm afraid that I'm going to be the only one in the world that actually will give this book a poor rating. The action is good, but that's a given.

Almost 50%. I was told that there would be no sex in this book, so I naturally assumed (stupid me) that there would be no relationship drama! Geez was I wrong! Don't tell me Anita is going to add Olaf/Otto to her herd?

I'm at 33% -so far so good, but I do see problems coming. A lot of repetitious talk about a warrant. Also about wh can make the kill or can't and why or why not. Shady Sheriff. And what is up with Olaf? This was actually a good story (great mystery) like so many of her first novels until he showed up.

50% done and I may not finish it. This is boringly written for such good subject matter. Who cares what everyone wore on their wedding day and the exact bouquets they carried, or about the decore in every dingle room or the descriptions of the paintings...ugh.
