I really like the new TV show RJ Decker, which is based somewhat on this book, so I thought I’d give the novel a try.

I wanted something light and easy to combat the reading slump I’ve been in for weeks, so I’m trying a cozy mystery. I actually did read some of the books in this series when I was younger but I don’t really remember the plots of any of them so I’m starting over with the first book.

I’m really struggling with Project Hail Mary. I want to like this book but I can’t get into it. Granted, I’ve only read a few chapters, however I don’t find the main character very interesting and I’m more invested in the flashbacks than where he’s at currently! Should I DNF and just go see the movie or is the book worth sticking with?

I want to finish this before I see the movie, but what was up with that dig at gluten free people in the first chapter? I guess it’s because I have celiac disease and have to be gluten free, but stuff like that bothers me a bit.

It took forever, but this finally got interesting.

This isn’t going the way I thought it would. I thought it would be more of a condemnation of this inappropriate relationship but so far it hasn’t come off that way. I’m hoping something else happens by the end to make the book not so…gross.

Starting my re-read of this as a buddy read with my friend Madison.

I’m looking forward to starting my buddy read (or, to be more accurate, buddy re-read) of The Bell Jar with my friend Madison. She got me into Sylvia Plath so it makes sense that we’re doing this. And we even have matching editions of the book!
