This book is not what I thought it was. I thought it was some kind of memoir. However, it’s a collection of articles on American society lol.

Done with chapter three! What an experience.

I’ve found this book really insightful and I believe I can reference it even after I’m done, as a means of knowledge.

Well-written. I’m surprised because I feel like books nowadays are not well written anymore.

We began the parts where we read about what the sahaba and the Prophet SAW were subjected to. Very sad.

Slow start to the story but it’s really picking up speed now!

I don’t understand the point yet of this book. I guess that’s making it hard to be interested as of right now. However, I’m willing to wait—it’s short anyways.

Some lines, some paragraphs feel like poetry. I wonder if they read even more poetically in their original language.

I can’t remember the last time I read a comic.

Up until this point, Malcolm X has discussed his pre-reversion life. What incredibly detail. I suspect that the next chapters of this book will be exceptionally memorable considering this build up. I love his storytelling.

I skipped a few pages, the last some pages on the section about “god”. Fromm cannot be analyzing God as The One True God because Fromm is not a credible source on God. Social scientists study society. It’s more appropriate that he discuss the functions of a belief in God for any given society instead of Who God actually is, since he does know God for himself.

We only read five pages as group (women’s halaqa). I thought the five pages were interesting because Allah used Iqra to “wake” the Prophet SAW from his “sleep”—I understand that to mean to inspire the Prophet to be among those consciously living, with a clear purpose (monotheism).

Audio-booking this because I simply cannot follow.
