After googling the author, I realize a skinny woman felt emboldened enough to write a weirdly fatphobic mystery novel that borders on anti elderly, solely from her insane representation of the main character. We shall see if I’m going to persevere on this one

I have chosen to push through the post-work exhaustion which now means I’m audio booking again (yay!) and reading a physical historical fiction to feel something! Both are long books so let’s see 🤘🎸

this is reading more like a horror novel in this political climate.. . Always terrified of plots where women are accused of hysteria as a form of control🥲

It’s always good to think ahead (says the to-do list enthusiast in me) so I’ve decided next year’s reading theme will be my TBR list! A heady and intoxicating thought of absolutely minimizing that monster.

Small update Re: this year’s reading theme-Series!
Oh I’m killing it, if I may say so myself 😌 have I touched the massive note I made listing series I’ve wanted to read? Not at all. But Still!

Rereading my favorite book of all time for the nth time so expect a short pause from my rapid fire mystery binge (as in maybe 24 hrs max).

Quarter of the way through and mainly one long internal monologue with small allusions to odd happenings. The Maid definitely navigated this form of storytelling better in the start but I’m interested to see how it develops!

Yeah I’m crying and crocheting. The authors mastery in storytelling across books is unmatched by anyone I’ve read before. I’m beyond thankful I wasn’t reading this as it was published, it would have broke me.

Oh this is a true cozy mystery. Now that I know the characters (thank you exposition heavy first book), Louise is in her stride setting the scene of well known characters during Christmas right before a brutal murder (in a small town soon to have the highest murder per capita🤗). I can’t explain why it’s so calming but I love it so far

Interesting so far! Not sure if it’ll land as good as the first but it’s popular for a reason so I have hope

This is so wild and I’m overloaded with the amount of characters I’m keeping track of. Suspense is good but not entirely sure how this will progress

Don’t look at me like that…. Yes I’m reading the next book. I am committing to the bit and reading all 5 even if it kills parts of my brain.
