There is so much telling already in this book and it's exhausting

I do feel like the plot is stalling out here a little bit. Also, the miscommunication is bad it’s upsetting.

Great, I love it when my protagonist jumps to conclusions and makes deals with someone she actively called malevolent. GIRL, WHAT ARE WE DOING

I…did not know this was primarily an epistolary novel. I think that’s difficult to pull off in contemporary fiction, but I’m open.

Already further than my first attempt! Listening to the audiobook has been helping a lot, this beginning is so slow. I like the narrative, but I feel like taking so much time to rehash Pride and Prejudice isn’t the creative choice I would make.

The limited series looks so good that I must give this another try. I recollect absolutely nothing about this book 😅😅 I’m also going to go back and forth between the audiobook and the physical copy to get through the slow beginning.

I'd love to be as blown away by these as I was by the Emma Lion series, but so far they're only ok.

The parallels here are phenomenal. Her comparing him to a far prince from a novel and him comparing himself to Quasimodo in the tower with the gargoyles? Chefs kiss. I’m obsessed.

I’ll regret staying up this late when I wake up on the morning, but this book is getting so good I don’t want to put it down!!

Lydia is the queen of Girlboss, Gaslight, Gatekeep and I’m obsessed. He said AND I QUOTE “If you try to eat soup with a fork I shall scream” and I’m howling. Sophie Irwin is so funny and this man is so tired of Lydia’s shenanigans

This book has been getting comps to Holly Black and Olivia Atwater and I'm just not seeing it. I'm missing the rich, robust and clever prose that these authors bring to the table. So far this book has been pretty bland.

Trust that I do not play when it comes to my Katherine Center favorites. Most likely will be finishing this tonight. 💕
