Ellen O’Clover is a genius when it comes to writing flawed protagonists.

This is a true rivals to lovers and I’m loving it.

I kind of hate when a books resolution even partially hinges on social media or “going viral”

I never really noticed how often Charlotte mentions the fae in my first read years ago; especially their relation to Jane as a character and her relationship with Rochester. It’s also an interesting peek into how strong an influence folklore still had on British culture. It also lends itself very well to the Victorian gothic aesthetic. (Aka I’m having a really good time here)

I think sometimes I block out how strange Mr Rochester is because of my love for Jane, but he’s such an odd man.

I’ve spotted my first anachronism. No British person would ever call it a sweater over a jumper. It’s always a jumper 👀

I love living in Jane’s head and listening to the audiobook is bringing a new depth I didn’t realize was possible (also, 2x speed has been a lot of fun, I think it just makes Jane’s reports feel even sharper, which I love)
