This book is so popular, and yet... why have so many pages so far been devoted to describe the size of the main character's genitalia?

Ah Natasha, the ultimate teenager. I'm still having trouble squaring the math on her age throughout the book.

The pace of Atahualpa's reforms seems oddly fast.

Watching the Incans flip the playbook on the Spanish was so enjoyable. Writing is a little dry now that he is focusing on German politics. Would love to see the art Titian and Michelangelo supposedly made :-)

I loved the first few books, but once Laurence and Temeraire started traveling around the world, I did not enjoy it as much. I think I now know why I could not connect with the travelling adventures - it is hard to sympathize with the whole "Napoleon is evil! If left unchecked, he'll rule as a tyrant all over Europe!", while Laurence & Co are traipsing around a world subject to British imperialism.

Wow. This makes me so angry. The maneuvering of the federal and provincial governments on passing the bucket, the blatant disregard to broken promises and basic human rights. I'm amazed at Shannen Koostachin. Kudos to Charlie Angus for stepping up and trying to do the right thing.

Well, this is quite enlightening. And infuriating. And is pushing me to grapple with my own mestizo identity.

Gosh, this is tough!

You know when all your holds at the library become available at the same time, and you got 21 days to go through a pile of them. Yup, first world problem.

Taking my time to get back into this series after a short pause (partly motivated by my book from the library becoming available, and partly to prevent me from throwing my Kobo across the room when reading about Nino).

Finding hard to find time outside of bedtime to read this.

Managed to score a copy in Spanish, yay!
