Alejandra is starting Shōgun (Asian Saga, #1)
This book is so popular, and yet... why have so many pages so far been devoted to describe the size of the main character's genitalia?

Ah Natasha, the ultimate teenager. I'm still having trouble squaring the math on her age throughout the book.

Watching the Incans flip the playbook on the Spanish was so enjoyable. Writing is a little dry now that he is focusing on German politics. Would love to see the art Titian and Michelangelo supposedly made :-)

Alejandra is starting Blood of Tyrants (Temeraire, #8)
I loved the first few books, but once Laurence and Temeraire started traveling around the world, I did not enjoy it as much. I think I now know why I could not connect with the travelling adventures - it is hard to sympathize with the whole "Napoleon is evil! If left unchecked, he'll rule as a tyrant all over Europe!", while Laurence & Co are traipsing around a world subject to British imperialism.

Alejandra is starting Children of the Broken Treaty: Canada's Lost Promise and One Girl's Dream
Wow. This makes me so angry. The maneuvering of the federal and provincial governments on passing the bucket, the blatant disregard to broken promises and basic human rights. I'm amazed at Shannen Koostachin. Kudos to Charlie Angus for stepping up and trying to do the right thing.

Well, this is quite enlightening. And infuriating. And is pushing me to grapple with my own mestizo identity.

Alejandra is starting Miles, Mystery, and Mayhem (Vorkosigan Omnibus, #3)
The uterine replicator was such a break through technology impacting women's lives as introduced in Shards of Honor. And then we get something like Athos to show us the other side of the coin...

Highlight of the day - noticing that the most visible (to me) review on the manga I'm currently reading is from Lois McMaster Bujold. How cool is that?

Is it weird that I found the central romance so refreshing?
The uterine replicators and their specific usage were quite an interesting (and poignant) idea.

You know when all your holds at the library become available at the same time, and you got 21 days to go through a pile of them. Yup, first world problem.

Taking my time to get back into this series after a short pause (partly motivated by my book from the library becoming available, and partly to prevent me from throwing my Kobo across the room when reading about Nino).

Managed to score a copy in Spanish, yay!

Wanting to punch smug Nino. A guy enamored with his own voice, who leads Lenu on because he likes to bask in the obvious admiration. Ugh.
