Drew is starting Star Wars: Darth Vader - Black, White & Red
Similar to Superman Red, White, & Blue in concept and execution. Hit and miss, but more hit than miss. 3.5/5.

Drew is starting Church Fathers: From Clement of Rome to Augustine
Wanted to read something in honor of Benedict’s death. This is a lovely little collection of lectures he gave covering both familiar and obscure church fathers; the largest number are devoted to Augustine, who was special to Benedict as both a theologian and a disciple.

Drew is starting Capitalism and Freedom
I have some sympathies with Friedman, but after the pandemic the libertarian ethos applied to medicine seems incredibly unwise.

Drew is starting Bittersweet: How Sorrow and Longing Make Us Whole
Abandoned it a few chapters in. I loved Quiet, but I lost interest in this rapidly because I just can’t get behind books that try to cobble together ideas from disparate philosophies and religions as if their is no distinction between them. The overall theme I appreciate but the execution didn’t sustain my interest.

Drew is starting Black Adam: The Dark Age (New Edition)
Well written and good art but the ending is a bit of a nothingburger.

Drew is starting Red War (Mitch Rapp, #17)
Impressive how the Kyle Mills books are not a step down from Flynn’s. A fun read as usual.

Drew is starting Think Again: The Power of Knowing What You Don't Know
I liked this book though I struggled a bit that he uses stereotypes for his typology of approaches to knowledge while also encouraging the reader not to stereotype (his stereotype of preaching was, for obvious personal reasons, especially galling). His insights on helping people think more broadly about career paths and possibilities instead of being wed to one job as an identity were insightful.

Drew is starting Why We're Polarized
If you’ve ever read Vox, you know who the villain of this story is going to be. Still, lots of interesting arguments and and some insight into our current political moment, along with some practical ideas at the end.
