I don't know what to make of any of the characters, but I am LOVING the amount of research and detail put into this book

The dedication alone ("To everyone who feels betrayed by JK Rowling") told me I'd love this book, but holy shit I didn't expect to love it so much??? If I was left alone with this book for another six hours, it would be finished but alas: I have to pay for the bunny's pyramid scheme

Super interesting so far! But I can see how if you're not in the book/library industry how it could be not what you expected.
