while i can tell a lot of rsearch went into this, the contrast between white vs japanese authors when writing japense people is rather painful... then again, i'm listening to the book and the narrator is really pushing the anime school girl™️ voice on the protagonist :')

i thought this book was gonna focus on homesexuality being a taboo i 1980s eastern europe.... instead it's awakening the generation rage and trauma communism brought upon the land
