Zelie's motivation is to bring magic back and get vengeance on the king for her mother's death. The conflict is that the crown prince, Inan, is trying to track her down and stop her.

One thing I like about the book is the characters' development and difficulty facing the problem. Citra is starting to get adjusted to her training which scares her and Rowan has to make a lot of tough decisions without much reassurance from Scythe Faraday.

Citra shows contrast and contradictions when she is at her aunt's wedding.
She usually loves to talk and socialize, but while she was there, not only did she not talk to people, they also avoiding and talked about her behind her back.

In my novel, Scythe by Neal Shusterman, the POV is third person omniscient because it follows around, and shows the thoughts of the 2 main characters. The choice of narrator impacts my experience by making me sympathize with the characters problems and situations. I also helps me know more about their background and how they think.

"I regret to inform you that this entire flight has been selected for gleaning." (71) One of them any problems that this character is facing is the fact that he and everyone else on the flight he is on, is about to be killed...

I have found words of the wiser on page 60 where Scythe Faraday tells Citra and Rowan that death never hides, never goes away, and never sleeps. He warns them that they will learn that soon.

So far I think Palmer is an indecisive kid who doesn't want to harm living things, but wants to fit in.
