"And so, Rook Thomas, it appears that the man was strangled to death by his own beard.'
'By, or with?' asked Myfanwy, frowning.
'By.'
'Well, that definitely sounds worthy of some attention,' she said, jotting down a note to get her hair cut."

1. Miller might be the worst FBI agent that ever existed.
2. I'm one of those that suffers from secondhand embarrassment. And the budding relationship so far... I keep laughing and wincing while having to look away. I don't know if I'm gonna survive this book. How are the ratings so high?

I was nervous that I wouldn't like this series because fantasy is a hit or miss for me, plus hype makes me wary. But if the rest in this series is as good as this first book has been, it definitely deserves all the hype.

Well, I'm both hooked and yet, already tired of Rachel feeling sorry for herself, making excuses for her horrible choices, and fucking everything up for others. It's not even a third of the way through, yet. At the same time, though, I want to see this train wreck of character through. Lawd, she's got problems. As for who/what happened, I have some suspicions.

I think I've read the last two stories before. Wouldn't surprise me. I love anthologies and Neil Gaiman.

Lol. He declines your invitation to the secret shenanigans.

Raymond: "I have no objection to entrusting you with my secret, for I am sure that I may depend upon your silence."

Christoval: "Then your opinion of me is better than my own, and therefore I must beg leave to decline your confidence. Do you go your own way, and I shall go mine."

I'm torn here, because on one hand it is well written but on the other hand I am tired of the back and forth and the misunderstandings. I feel like it is being dragged out for too long. I want to have the show down with the pirate dude and wrap it up already, haha. I think I am just burnt-out on pure romances.

This book already has me laughing out loud at the dialogue between the MC and the unicorn. I think I made a great find at Edward McKay's today.

So far, I am not impressed with this one. Maybe because of the first, I went in with too many expectations? Seriously though, I've already lost count with how many times the heroine has cried so far. And the romance is too easy-going. Sigh.
