i know i have listened to too many books of this variety recently bc i recognized the narrator’s name. malcolm hillgartner, stop narrating books i want to listen to. i don’t like you as a narrator. great book so far though

narrator has tried on multiple occasions to do a “new england accent” which. i fear there is no singular new england accent. and somehow he has still gotten it wrong every single time. it always turns into him doing a bad bronx accent

ohhhhhh my god. nauseous all day listening to this one!!!! rick westhead, i can always trust you to write a super well researched well written complete heartbreaking book

i’ve read/listened to a lot of really depressing books but uhhhh this tess storyline is ROUGH

i only read at my various jobs now thank you very much. giving into peer (family) pressure on this one so everyone will leave me alone

yeah that’s right. i’m listening to audiobooks at work again. this is very good and the more i think ab it the better it gets. i have literally 11 minutes left but i got so cold that i couldn’t focus anymore

listen up! even if you don’t read this entire book, you simply must read snow fall by john branch. just almost cried on an airplane sitting between two men (one of them has been watching joe rogan the entire time) and i think it is the most amazing piece of journalism i have ever read. mr branch really deserved that pulitzer so go read it NOW

it’s epic. i appreciate that the narrator is not doing accents. however, he had a very bizarre speech pattern and it’s making me feel crazy. but the book is so sick

this is bonkers bananas. i don’t even like fish. but this makes me definitely not want to eat fish

i fear this is going to be one of those books that live in my brain forever
