我確實讀得很慢：讀完一個句子就會遇到不認識的詞，然後就要在翻譯應用上寫出來。真的要費很多時間去讀啊。但是是值得的，我認為。到這為止，（我讀了六片隨筆）遇到最吸引我的句子是：
“初升的太陽吧廚房各種東西，照得光輝耀眼。”

this was a slow start for me, but once i got into the "meat" of it–after the an overview of the protagonist's background–i quickly became very drawn to it. the author is hilarious and writes such clever one/two-liners. his humour is rather cynical and dark however; here's a fav: "when we meet again, at midnight, remind me to turn the chandelier up a bit. the story gets much darker from here" (113).

this collection has been heavy on my heart: its exploration of the immigrant and first-gen experience, of sexuality, of familial dynamics, of sibling relationships, of so many relevant, powerful themes. so's ability to articulate the nuance i feel and his ability to so detailedly describe and convey thoughts and perspectives that occupy the grey space, that find its place in suspension
