Anna is on page 241 of 384 of Midnight Flight (Broken Wings, #2)
I've been drawn into the world of these three juvenile delinquents. They are not being rehabilitated but instead severely physically and psychologically abused and tortured by a sadistic sociopath. Need to find out whether they make it out of there.

Vividly portrayed. Pulls you in immediately.... would finish it quicker except that I'm reading a Thomas Hardy novel as well.

Anna is on page 201 of 432 of The Runaway Woman
This is my third Josephine Cox novel and sadly it is not living up to expectations set by the other two. By now it should be a page turner, but instead I'm wading through monotonous repetitive dialogue about a woman's failing marriage and the death of her parents. Waiting to get hooked, but not getting my hopes up.

Anna is on page 31 of 329 of Complete Ghost Stories
This book has been sitting on my shelf unread for ten months and I'm glad I delved into it at last. These are short stories taken from the Pickwick Papers, and if the first three are anything to go by, filled with Dickensian charm; whimsical and entertaining rather than scary. Though in Safe bedtime reading for those of a sensitive nature.

I think I can predict that the bank robbers are going to get caught by the Met team who have them under surveillance. Still, it's fun experiencing the tense build up.

Firstly, there are actually 582 pages to this novel and not 400, Goodreads. This is a complex detective story set in the early 70s. A whodunnit. Easy to get into, lots of old fashioned sexism by the Met, and a page turner.

Anna is finished with The Girl on the Train
I would give this book 6 stars if I could for the sheer ingenuity of the plot and unstoppable pace. The main characters are all delightfully flawed, not least Rachel, the protagonist, who was such fun too. It was more hardcore thriller than I was expecting. Can see why The Girl on The Train is a global a best seller.

The suspense is building by the page. Rachel is a wonderfully complex and scheming character.

First of all, there are actually 409 pages to this novel, not 336, Goodreads. The tension and suspense has got me hooked. Seriously gripped. This feels real, like two people's diaries merged into one book, lives about to overlap. Two neurotic young women, coping, scheming.... I'd read it flat out today if I hadn't got other plans.
