I am confused about the opinion of Darwin on Galton: “Darwin read the study, but he was not particularly convinced, damning his cousin with faint praise.” However, in the actual letter Darwin seems to praise him: “I do not think I ever in all my life read anything more interesting and original--and how well and clearly you put every point!” (Unless it’s the British way of telling you to f*ck off in a courteous way.)
