Yes, I’ve seen the TV series. And yes, I still chose to do this to myself. We must confront our greatest fears and sorrows in relationships to better understand ourselves—reading to overcome and find love.

Most of waking life for the people are driven by dreams—the desire to remember or forget them. Not the turn of direction I expected with this story. It is my first experience with Han Kang’s work. There is something twisted about the way she writes people, full of shameful acts, but also confusing the lines of where you want to redeem them. I have made it this far, can’t wait to finish.

Finished the first chapter in a single sit-down. Kafkaesque, for sure, also surprisingly tender in the wife’s recollection of dreams. Husband, unsurprisingly, pisses me off but I kept reading despite it. Will definitely finish the book in the coming days.
