i'm 10% in and i honestly feel like amber has no character to speak of. it's a book about music, but there's no mention of what she personally likes or is influenced by, just mentions to different songs to let you know that This Is The 90s. oh, but amber doesn't actually /like/ music all that much, she just wants to be loved! this is already hammered in enough by this point in the book but i just don't believe it.
