The real life scandal around the book for far more interesting. Large parts of the story bored me. I was astonished at how self absorbed she was. Did she ever ask Moth how he felt? He had an illness on top of everything she was going through. Ugh.

I loved this book. It stayed with me. A truly different story. Melancholy in tone for much of the book I don’t think it’s for everyone. It raises questions about the trade offs all lives require? What does freedom really mean? The old ‘‘tis better to have loved and lost…” is also examined. Whether you find a sad ending, a bittersweet ending, a justified ending, or the only possible ending is left up to the reader.

Just are the very beginning. Not what I was expecting based on the blurb.
