I listened to it and really enjoyed the details about vaudeville included in the story line. The transitions between narrators were some of the smoothest I’ve ever read. I think some of the details might have been less engaging if I were reading a print version.

So far the premise is interesting but I don’t believe the author has laid out the premise that equates American racism with caste. I am not finding the underpinnings of religion providing the skeleton of racism as a caste issue nor is racism a unique issue to the United States. It is reading more as an essay interpreting current events through a particular lens that I have read before in the popular news.

Predictable and trite. It was free and you get what you pay for.
