man this is SO GOOD i'll talk about it properly when I have the book in front of me and the loudest bitch in the world isn't talking about her boyfriend behind me in the dining hall, but the writing style is so modern I started it kinda ehhhh but then as I kept reading, I liked it more and more.

I'm only getting to reading it now because it wasn't assigned reading for my ENG111 class and fankly, I'm lazy. I always inadvertently root for them to accomplish their suicides. they're so tired, life is so long, and they're trying so hard to die. to have to keep living when they don't want to is so demoralizing. I always feel terrible.

I am not enjoying very much why is Emily Carr so obsessed w her self insert character instead of focussing,,, idk,,,,, the art that she supposedly went there to study ? Also her romanticized image of indigenous people kinda depersonalizes them and the whole thing with that feels icky. I don’t think this is public (so I speak to Genevieve) but I’m reading this for a class and not having fun. Thanks xx
