In the first few pages, we are introduced to the young Brahmin Siddartha. He is very bright and is well know through out all of the community. girls swoon at the sight of him and he has a loyal friend who follows him everywhere. on top of that he is well trained and respected by the elders of the town. However, Siddartha questions his life of bliss and wonders if there isn't something more meaningful to do.
