Ok... This book isn't going well. I've enjoyed this series up until now, and I'm REALLY disappointed by Kristen Britain's choices in this one. I will finish it, but right now I doubt that I'm going to be reading any further parts of this series. I don't have enough characters to list my issues so far, but lets start with love triangles, whorephobia and queerphobia. I'll say more when I finish

I'm giving up on this one. It's... well ... silly and amusing but mostly annoying. Oddly I think I read the first one some years ago. I am not sure where this fits in the wassname, so it might help if I read the books in between.

Oh my god this melodramatic novel is too much. Yes it is beautifully written literature, and probably did deserve the Nobel Prize (I am not well versed in literature nor how this prize is awarded), but the main character's obsession that he believes is love, is creepy and gross. The amount of time he spends obsessing in the book is tedious and I just cannot continue reading it. No more for me.

So... these characters aren't very likeable, the world isn't very likeable... and I can't believe how many of these books exist.

So far this is terrible. I'd be loath to let a young adult read this book because it is so badly written, so full of stereotypes and I want to strangle most of the characters.

It has a little more time before I stop reading it because it's terrible.

I don't know if I can, in all seriousness, read a book with the following sentence in it:

"Her globes were absolutely huge north of her equator, and she didn't mind making sure he got many good looks at the way they threatened to burst from her ribboned bodice."

If the whole book so far had been like that, then it might not be a problem, but this suddenly landed before my eyes and no.

It's hard to be objective about this collecting when I find that half of the stories are horrible (as in horror which I don't like) and half are really incredible. I think I'm tending towards liking it

Wow. I loved all of this book. The research into this period of history is thorough, the writing is amazing, the characters are vibrant and we'll developed. I'm really sad it ended, I was enjoying it so much that I wanted to know more, and I'm really gadfly that there is going to be another book.

The writing quality in this anthology is all over the place. The good stories make it worthwhile, but some of the bad to average ones are painful - and reading on an e-reader makes it hard to know how many pages to skip ahead

I enjoyed this, a world of interesting politics, a relationship that is forbidden, gods that interfere in the world and who don't know everything.

A really great read. I'm looking forward to finding the rest of the series.

I'm about a third of the way through this book and I'm gripped. It would appear that there was an earlier series set in the same world, some time in the past, but apart from mentions of history, as a new reader I am not expected to know what has gone before - which is nice.
