Incredible biography of some incredible people. Goodwin is a master storyteller and gives Lincoln a greater context than just emancipator. Seward, Chase, Bates, Stanton, Grant, Mary Todd, and McClellan make for a great cast to give us a fuller and more nuanced picture than I have ever known.
