It’s getting complicated - like I have a whole case in front of me and when I reach the point of thinking I know the killer, the predictions are suffocated. I’ve never really read anything like it before and I definitely recommend. The ending seems promising.

Okay, so it’s getting better. I’m definitely getting that sense of dark, authentic campus vibes with an impeccable interest in Greek culture. I can see the link between “The Secret History” and this.

I’m not sure I’m that invested in this book at the moment. For me, it only started getting good at around chapter 7. I do like the choice of epigraphs for the prologue and the first chapter.

It’s going by pretty quickly but I’m not sure I’m that invested in it yet. I only maintained a sudden interest when I reached chapter 7- although the prologue was very good. I also think the choice of epilogues fit nicely

Okay so Lizzie, apart from being the main protagonist, is my favourite character so far. Her Witt and sassiness is completely missed out on in the films which is such a shame because she brings so much humour.

So I’m not that far in because “If We Were Villains” has given me a reading slump for Dark Academia but I can’t deny that Tartt’s writing is so astounding and talented - it’s literal art. It’s looking okay so far. I just hope it isn’t going to be boring near the middle being it’s quite chunky 😬

I’ve got a really chunky version so there are a lot of notes and a really big introduction and foreword, so I’m not that far in but I love it so so much. The 2005 film is my favourite version and my comfort film but the book is already proving to overrule the film. The detail in Austen’s writing and the way the characters are described just makes everything so much better. I’m exited to finish this !!
