I have probably read most of this, but I'm enjoying the re-read, and I think I've probably come across some bits I skimmed or overlooked previously. It's really silly and clever and fun.

It's really bothering me that there's no paperback version on Goodreads, 'cause that's actually what I'm reading. And I don't like the font size as much as I liked the font size in Scratch Moss.

Autistic pedantic whinge out of the way, I got into Scratch Moss a bit quicker than this, but I'm interested. It's quite nice going into it knowing how Withered Hill operates.

Saw this recommended on a horror group and on the face of it it doesn't seem at all appealing but the recommendations made it seem worth a punt. Had my doubts when I first started reading but it's pulled me in. I'm a sucker for stories told via message board posts and the like, and this is so bizarre, reading this book feels very much like going down a internet rabbit hole (albeit a particularly disturbing one).

My biggest takeaway so far is that Angela is *really* annoying.

This is aimed more at non-autistics, really, and I don't relate to all of it, but the bits that are relatable are managing to be quite validating. I always feel like I'm misunderstood and like people never truly understand where I'm coming from, so it's kind of reassuring to be reminded that it's not just me.

Editions of this and The Case of Mary Bell have been lumped together. I read TCoMB, and just started this book today.

I have an article in Fractal Spectrum magazine's latest issue (Summer/Autumn 2026). I wrote about being a multi-modal communicator, the difficulties that come with that and how essential it is to have understanding, flexibility and access to muiltiple modes of communication in the workplace.

This isn't the edition I'm reading, but the right one isn't listed. I'm familiar with the case, but appreciate the focus on the victims prior to becoming victims. We get a nice snapshot of Martin Brown's character and family relationships. Sereny so far seems to deal with the subject respectfully and sensitively and without oversensationalising.

Obsessed with cults/high influence groups, and really enjoying this. Actually started it a while ago, it's full of post it notes, but I managed to misplace it for a while amongst my many piles of books. Glad I picked it back up, again.

Fully invested. The post-chocolate mousse scene is awful. Guy, WTF is wrong with you?!

Started reading this, then misplaced it amongst my many TBR piles. Picked it up again but I’m not hooked.
