What a special re-read. It’s been 24 years since I read this book the first time and at least 15 years since the last time I re-read it. Even though I knew what was going to happen, as well as I know my own history, the magic was still there.

Omg I’m reading the 20th anniversary edition (which is very fitting because it’s been 20-ish years since I read this for the first time and it had a profound impact on my life) and the afterword just made me cry like a baby. I needed that afterword, after all these years.

Years overdue for a re-read. Now is the time.
