So this is so minor but: there is a character who in one paragraph is described as a "blonde bombshell" and the next page is said to have "flaming red hair". There is literally no indication of any change or time passing or anything. It doesn't even say if it's natural or not. I know it's so minor but it bothers me. Yikes!

Update: I think I will continue this book. I want to know the mystery mainly.

I have reorganized my entire physical tbr which so far is only about 80 (single) books and 9 book series. 🙃🙃 The new year will be wack

Update: im not usually a fan of sci-fi but I am really enjoying this so far!

Update: give it up for 3 percent!!!!!! But seriously, I actually don't find it too annoying or boring or anything just average for the time being. We will have to see, I'm way too early to even make any judgment if I'm being honest

Update: I'm having a bit of trouble. It's not the content/themes or actual story that I'm struggling with. The writing style, constant switching of povs - don't help. I want to press on and read more but I'm also seriously considering if I should jump ship now. I really feel like I'm dragging my feet on this but I also want to keep going??? Man

Update: the other day I made a bunch of progress! And I was enjoying the book way more, but then I took a break and haven't picked it up in like a week. Oof. I will try and pace myself with it but at least I made it to the second half.

Update: this translation is pretty good. It's pretty easy to follow along with what's happening in the story but man oh man. 👀 anyway, I'm taking this one at a slower pace deliberately because it's a way older text and it needs more brain power (which I have in very limited supply)

Update: I think I moved 0.1% forward. I'm having a real tough time with this one. It's not the language or the genre. The language is flowery but readable and I love fantasy. I think the biggest issue I'm honestly having right now is the fact that it's boring. Nothing has happened in the first 100 pages (nothing really!!!!). Also can they stop singing every ten seconds and just let some action happen oof. I'll try...

Update: it's slow going but I don't feel the urge to rush through the book. There is a LOT of detail and exposition and descriptions...but it's not like the book is bad or boring. It's just very slow going even 100 pages in.

Update: we are 540 pages in! Omg! I feel like I have to do big reading binges for this book and then not look at anything for a while. I'm enjoying it! But man it's a lot of info to process. Tbf this is the longest book I've read (I believe) because KoA was over 900 pages but this is over 1000. Oh boy

Update: I am enjoying this a bit more now that I have hit the second volume. Darcy is not what I expected but I do like him. And Lizzy is warming up to me a bit. I will keep reading this through.

(Im guessing the number tbh) I have no clue how far I am, I'm caught up with everything so far. Idk when this volume will end (like what chapter) and when 13 will start. But also holy crap OnK hurts my soul (good thing)

Only have read the first chapter so far but holy crap! Really good and way more emotional than I was initially expecting. While I know the story of It, I did not realize how BRUTAL that first chapter was in making you feel horrified and incredibly upset. This book seemed daunting at first but I actually can see myself enjoying this quite a lot.

Currently on Chapter 15 and I'm struggling. I'm just having a hard time really getting myself to actually read this. It's better (slightly) than Sense and Sensibility but I'm still having a hard time with it. Ahhh
