I can’t help but think this is a book I shooould love, but don’t really.

I’ve listened to the first 20% three times now because I was so distracted, but I still don’t really like it right now?

Ok apparently the audiobook doesn’t have the translator notes which actually make this book unique & interesting, so I’m going to find myself a copy & start again, I guess. I’m so incredibly bored by the 683 food descriptions we’ve gotten.

I feel very unsophisticated for saying this, but I’m a little bored..

This really should be marketed as a sequel to the Glass Hotel, none of this would mean anything without the prior knowledge.

I remember this being set in nature/the hotel/the boat a lot more? But my memory is notoriously bad, so now I’m a little disappointed. Really just re-reading to get all the references in sea of tranquility, honestly.

Cute!! This will make a great movie, too.

Oh this is gearing up to be a 5 star!! A bit ironic that I’m trying to escape work thoughts & pick up a book about the inner workings of a school.. but hey, it‘s fantasy
