Skip the “must write” scenes that you din’t feel excited about. They probably aren’t needed or you are borrowing concepts from other media or the genre itself as a trope.

Also don’t write transitory or logistics scenes. Those are boring. Your readers are smarter than you.

Write your islands if you are stuck you can write the bigmoments you already know about then write the connecting scenes later.
