this essay “a good egg” opens very oddly, the emotions of being close to someone with substance issues and just wanting them to change so you can be happy again and then having to cut them off? very real and maybe i read this too early in the day

have mixed feelings, thus far. koul is a snappy writer, with some paragraphs or passages that stir my soul or make me cackle on the train. but i feel like the majority of these essays (aside from the first one) are just kind of meandering around the point for like thousands of words.

for someone who is passionate about writing, june is REEEAAALLLYYY comfortable with stealing ideas
