The first chapter has done a lovely job setting up the context for this scenario. Mr. Sakamoto is a middle aged shopkeeper whose past has come back but he is well capable of handling it.

While it may be valid in programming to have nested parenthetical statements, I do not think the English language officially supports this syntax. Also I am uncertain if the historical context of bits in a conversational manner will help produce better code.
