The short story’ Fall line’ is a rubbish read. Felt like I was reading a watt pad story. Have no idea how it even made in

The story of Fatimah Bint Muhammad (radiallahu anha) is incredibly beautiful.

Truly a daughter of her father and our beloved prophet pbuh. Deserving of the names ‘as-zahra’ and ‘al-batul (resplendent, purity and asceticism)

We witness the hardships Fatimah went through alongside her father from when she was just a child. How she inherited all his qualities yet stilll devoted time to the poor and her people

The 1st short story: ‘saying goodbye to yang’ felt underwhelming on my first read, I expected it to be more fleshed out but it didn’t do much for me, maybe because I’d seen the film first? I could possibly do with another read of it

The 2nd short story: ‘the cartographers’ felt black mirror-esque. Creating and beaming memories to the point where you can no longer distinguish real vs manufactured lives

Just when it gets really good, murakami puts on the freaky thrusters

I feel uncomfortable

Nakata is wholesome but sad

This has made me unnecessarily sad about my cat
