The relationship between Gideon and Harrowhark is so passive aggressive but comedic. Gideon is a blast to read, I love her already. Also the way Muir writes is so engaging, the sharp tongue and chill nature in it appeals to me. Also the goofiness. Did I already say I love it?

I really liked the introspective take on Relkin’s inner self and doubts. I like his character and the nice relationship he now has with the village of Blue Stone. Emperor Pascal is doing an Imperial Progress through the lands to get to know the common folk, along with his crew. The Grey Lady, Lessis a powerful witch, his secretary Wysse, I loved his description lmao, and his personal doctor Orta. Around Ch. 7

I found this lovely second hand book nook pretty close to me and was able to snatch a good selection of books. I saw the Sherlock Holmes series and Dr.Jekyll and Hyde there in great condition, so I plan to get those if they’re still there as well as the Grapes of Wrath when I’ve finished the ones I got.

Nice world building so far! I was a bit hesitant to pick it up because of the small font but I’ve grown fond of it now
