I've heard so many good things about this one but it's just not really clicking for me yet, sadly.

I didn’t know it was possible to be bored and entertained at the same time and yet here I am

My copy of this smells like yoghurt and I can’t figure out why. Absolutely infuriating. I do not like yoghurt. Excellent book though.

Sometimes you step out of your comfort zone in terms of reading material and it turns out well. This is not one of those times.

I'm loving this so much

I so desperately want to love this but I just can't

so torn between being amused by flora and hating her. nobody captures arrogant nineteen-year-olds quite like stella gibbons.

For weeks now I've been wondering why we only read the first two chapters of this for a class, but now that I'm reading further, I'm realising that that's because (so far) the specific elements we discussed just don't appear in further chapters. Mystery solved, I suppose.

Can’t believe I’m actually saying this but. Do we really need this dog. Like does he add anything. Does anyone enjoy his presence. Because I certainly don’t.

Feeling really conflicted about this one so far

I thought this would be a quick read, but it’s so stunning it needs to be savoured slowly

Adding a third perspective two thirds of the way through is never a good idea

I’m having a great time with this but I don’t care for the poetry at all

I always look at how long chapters are before I start reading them and I've noticed that this book really alternates between 20-page chapters and 40-page chapters for some reason

Gee I wonder if perhaps the main character smokes. Not sure though, it's only been mentioned 83 times thus far

The most infuriating thing just happened where plot-wise I'm very sad but the thing is executed so well that I'm also impressed so like I'm not happy but also I am

Virginia Woolf is one of those authors whose sentences need to be savoured and I love that so much
