I’m not impressed with this retelling. Joan is portrayed as a hard hearted, obstinate giant of a girl. Where is the spiritual side of her journey? I also don’t like the writing style, short simple sentences in third person. I just can’t finish this one.

It is interesting to read a few examples of his work. I guess I’m not into poetry and don’t think I will finish this one.

I can’t finish this book. I find the writing style not to my liking. I don’t like it bouncing between the two men. It is very uninteresting for me to read. I tried skimming through some but even that way I have no interest in finishing it.

I enjoyed reading this book. I have ancestors who were there in Kirtland with Joseph Smith. It is good to learn about the history of the Saints.

interesting book, I am learning a lot about Pres. Snow and the time period. It is a bit dry and often will put me to sleep, so it is slow reading.
