The author is not presenting any new ideas and her attitude is annoying me. This feels like it was written for someone who had never interrogated women’s roles before menopause. Also, there is a lot of unexamined privilege in her life choices and her slice of life examples.

I’m liking the second half much better. Really enjoying the author’s take on tarot reading

The author just called Guinevere faithless.
Excuse me?! She purports to be referencing the older Welsh texts and there is no love triangle in the old texts.
I have always felt like Guinevere gets a bad rap so this is not sitting well with me. On the pro side, there was a cool guided meditation earlier in the chapter.

I’m really enjoying the folklore and historic parts, but the modern practice parts tend to have a patronizing tone that I find annoying. Also smudging is a Native American practice. Using that word to describe smoke cleansing in a book about Druidry is culturally appropriative. This has been discussed in the New Age community since the 90s, so the author should’ve known better.
