Getting super tense

I really hope this picks up soon bc so far it's just been vibes and no plot, and aside from Lewis Caroll's original Alice I'm not much of a fan of Wonderland.

hoping this picks up soon but I do like the joker so far

I don't really like Celena (yeah ik that's not how it's spelled) she's so shallow

Buddy-reading this with my best friend and we're both reading this for the first time! My expectations are SO high because I've heard so many good things about this, but I'm also generally not a fan of high fantasy. So far the writing is absolutely incredible.

this has been so highly recommended by so many friends that this BETTER be good. apparently it's supposed to be gut-wrenchingly sad but the summary also sounds a little too close to Once Upon a Broken Heart for my comfort... and we all know how I feel about THAT series.

Finals are over so I can finally start reading again yay! This is picking up finally and I still don't love some elements of this story (enough that I don't think I'll continue the series) but this has been a fun read!

two issues so far:
-there's a nonbinary character, which i'm neutral on except it's horrible to read from a grammatical standpoint
-the perpetual use of the race victim card is KILLING me

Hey guys! I'm looking for a little bit of help/advice. I'm gonna start reading the book Legendborn by Tracy Deonn soon and after reading the back of the book (bc I bought it awhile ago) it seems like it has some demonic/occult themes in it. The last (and only) book I read with occult themes in it was Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo and it's the worst book I've ever read. Can anyone who's read it... (cont'd in comments)

I swear this family is just a tiny cult these dynamics are WEIRD and feel almost abusive in some ways bc wdym you wouldn't look for our kid if he ran away???? because "that's his freedom?" and the dad will only show up when "he wants what we have to offer?" EW EW EW

Pretty much the only thing saving this book rn are all the narnia references. That series was my childhood so I'm eating them up. CS Lewis would roll in his grave if he knew his series would be referenced in a book like this.

just needed something short, fast and mindless heading into finals season. emphasis on mindless.

nine pages in and I already hate the main character for calling her mom by her first name. also who names their child matilda? I don't wanna hear anyone going by the name of matilda except my roald dahl icon

finally starting this back up, it's due back at the library in 5 days so I really need to lock in
