neil gaiman's imagination makes me so happy

hardy really has a way with words, huh? the imagery and detail that goes into building each scene. gorgeous. almost feels like i’m in the story. dramatic, wistful sigh.

honestly… why’s it so good? expected it to be painful & slow but it’s humorous and flows quite well.

i like this book so far because of the deep conflicts, both physical and emotional we're experiencing. i feel the pressure and emotional battle our protagonist is facing, difficult to navigate but deeply disturbing. there's a bit of mockery towards our current government in the book, which i find funny. it's uncomfortable how realistic this story is. in another life i could easily be the protagonist.

didn't realize these ideas were still as relevant today as they really are. kind of silly of me i guess that i assumed these issues of morality were more modern than they are.

got me looking behind my back going down the hall. just plain scary
