this book fucking rocks

actively choosing to not engage in the discourse around christopher nolan’s “the odyssey” by instead crushing a 500 page sapphic reinterpretation of the myth in under 2 days

ok actually i’m even more mad about the negative reviews now bc this book is a treasure. the only ones that are negative are mad that the author retconned the most common telling of the Odyssey, in which Penelope and Melanthus are a generation apart and Penelope treats Melanthus like a daughter. the one-year age gap in this retelling is established clearly and the relationship is not maternal….. PLEASE

loving loving loving this. i was apprehensive because it has a lot of negative reviews but T B H i just went back and read some of them - yall are just mad that the author retconned a myth that has been told retold and recorded over thousands of years….. you guys rhe changing of key parts of the narrative is like the whole POINT…. this would’ve happened when this story was spread thru spoken word…

say nothing to me about “expanding the boundaries of our happiness” ever again. is it insane to annotate someone else’s book hoping they read it

i love this so far it’s making me a little emotional but it’s beautifully done
