I was hooked from the start, I prolonged this as long as I could because I just didn’t want it to be the end of Avery & Theo.

I tried hard. I could accept Cora’s dependence on Ernt and all the psychological things she’s been through, even though he abused her, drink and do it again and blame it on his experience in Vietnam. I was able to get behind build a homestead in Alaska, unprepared, uprooting your daughter. The mother daughter codependency makes me want to scream. I just don’t know how this is a 4 or 5 star read.
