I was coerced into reading this. So, here we are.

This really is just a story about emotionally constipated men making dumb desicions and being too prideful to think rationally.

I have the feeling that I might become the biggest Chu Wanning hater out there, seriously, the perfect, untouchable immortal, and he has the characteristics of a little child. It‘s not endearing and does not make him look down to earth, very much on the contrary.

Man, 33, realizes for the first time that his actions have consequences and that the world does in fact not revolve around him alone.

The upsetting themes are upsetting me.

Also I still hate the dynamics. So far it is still portrayed as this „forbidden, sinful love!“ It is grooming and borderline pedophilia? Why is an immortal master, a full grown adult, attracted to a fucking teenager??? And no, it doesn’t count that Moran mentally is 32, he still has the body of a teenager and also Chu Wanning doesn’t know that.

I forgot how much I hate the translation. The way it is written is really bad and I don‘t think it should be ignored. It‘s obviously barely edited and at times just uncomfortable to read. The stutters are excessive, the way slang and dialects are written are abolutely cringe worthy and words are used unfittingly and at times plain wrongly.

I kinda forgot that the unreliable narrator is, well, unreliable.
