Having to do some on the fly editing for the violence, but otherwise we are loving this story.

Enjoying this a little more now that I have the characters straight and more is actually developing in the plot... Pretty slow there for a while

Kids are really enjoying this read-aloud, as am I.

Whodunnit meets spy thriller. Not enjoying as much as Thursday Murder Club, but you can easily tell it's by the same author. Almost annoyingly so? Jury's still out. More adult too. Hmm.

I'm remembering why this series sometimes drives me crazy. In this one, we have not one, not two, but FOUR time crossers so far. Overused plot device and an exhausting list of side characters to keep straight.

But...we'll see if the twists end up being worth it. So far I'm meh about it and don't really care what happens to the main character 😅

Trying this again now that I have the physical book from the library.

Loving this... Christie at her best

Read aloud with the big kids after the preschooler is in bed. A little scary at times for my first grader, but I'm doing a little editing-aloud to tone it down a bit

The plots on these are just okay, but the characters and settings keep reeling me back in... Plus I love this narrator

I still can't quite figure out where this is going. Lightly Christian steampunk mystery is all I've got so far.

I agree with A.C. herself that this novel as a whole doesn't really work well... But it does have some witty shining moments.

This is cute so far, but I cannot with Mark Sanderlin's narration... Not even entirely sure why. Might have to switch to the Kindle book because I do like the story

Good so far! My son has been begging to find more safe / clean middle grade dragon books, but it's a needle in a haystack out there... We shall see if this fits the bill 🔎

This has had a couple of shining moments, but I seriously don't know if I can even finish it, the main character is so infuriating 🤣 DITCH HER, MARK, YOU DESERVE BETTER

I... can't even say what I think yet. But I'm definitely fully invested. Despite the teen romance, a plot device which I still, for the record, hate.

I think I'm going to DNF this. The premise and supporting characters are interesting, but I simply cannot stand this whiny main character and care zero what happens to her.

The premise of this is fascinating, but the main character is driving me BANANAS. So unlikeable.

Actually really enjoying this! Some adults-only content, but nothing explicit / overly steamy. Writing style uses some beautiful language. A slight spin on Agatha Christie, and I'm loving the complex married couple duo going on... Hoping it goes good places from here.

Listening via audiobook: It's got quite a list of content warnings thus far, but good storytelling.

So far, this is like a bit more complex version of The Mysterious Benedict Society...
